HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR AUDITION.
Adults: If you are auditioning for the role of Marian, Harold or Marcellus please prepare the audition scene and song provided. They do not need to be memorized. If you would like to sing another piece, please make sure it’s in the classical musical theater vein (Hammerstein, Lerner and Lowe etc). For those who read music, we need to hear Marian sing up to a G.
For any of the other roles listed below, please prepare the given audition scenes. If a song is attached for that character, it is encouraged but not required. You are welcome to bring an alternate song for us to hear instead as long as it is in the classic musical theater vein and appropriate for the style of your character.
People who are preparing material from the show are encouraged to bring something else as well which will be asked for if there is a need to hear more to gauge singing range, etc.
FOR CHILDREN’S AUDITION: Children auditioning may also sing (sheet music not necessary) any lively Disney song of their choice (Hakuna Matata, Be Our Guest…anything). Children who play any band instrument or have gymnastics/tumbling experience are especially encouraged even if they are not strong singers.
